NOTARY RIGHT OF REFUSAL

The Notary reserves the right to decline notarization if there are uncertainties regarding the signer’s identity, willingness to sign, or comprehension of the document’s contents. A cancellation fee is enforced to compensate for the notary’s time and travel expenses. This fee is necessary to ensure that the notary can conduct their duties impartially and without financial bias.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF NOTARY PUBLIC

The Notary is a state-appointed official of integrity, designated by the State of California to act as an impartial witness in serving the public. As a Notary is not a licensed attorney, they are prohibited from providing explanations regarding the content of the documents to be signed. The primary duties of a Notary include verifying the true identity of signers, ensuring that they are signing documents of their own free will without any duress or intimidation, and confirming their awareness of the document’s contents or the nature of the transaction.

DOCUMENT PREPARATION

DO NOT SIGN your documents prior to your appointment. Certain documents require the notary’s presence to witness the signing. Ensure that all forms are fully completed and all applicable information is filled in before your appointment. Please note, California law prohibits the notarization of documents that are incomplete or blank.
